A man’s head was partially decapitated on Friday in Hattieville. The victim was 59 year old Hubert Tillett – a retiree who lives alone at the far end of the Dollar Bank Road in Hattieville. Family members told us they became suspicious when they went to the house on Friday evening around 4 and found Hubert Tillett’s pickup in the driveway but he was no where in sight.
Further fuelling those suspicions was the fact that the house was ransacked. They searched the property and that’s when a family member found Tillett floating face up in a dug out pool in the back of his yard. He had large cut wound on his face and neck. Bloody stones were found in the area next to his body.
A post mortem conducted today certified his cause of death as partial decapitation. Again the house was ransacked and so police believe it may have been killed and then robbed. Police are investigating.
