The Next Level Project debuted 15 days ago right her on Channel 7. The show is a competition to find the best new talent by pitting 10 young performers against each other. They’ve all received specialized training from the National Institute of Culture and History in performance, vocal delivery, stage presence and even wardrobe. But only one winner will go to that next level – and in the second show on Friday night, the eliminations began. More than a few hearts were broken and here’s a recap of the show which aired live on Channel 7.

[To Tricia Gabourel]
Gina Scott, Judge
“You took command of the stage, you were in command of the audience. Congratulations you have a promising future.”

Carls Parrotte, Judge
“I like for you to be more sexier. You did very good.”

[To Clive Myers]
Gina Scott,
“You are singing about fish in the sea and birds flying high and the rivers running deep but we didn’t see that on your face. You didn’t seem very much at ease with the song.”

Gina Scott,
“You have a very rich and earthy voice but you have to be very careful when you go into those low registers you lose your clarity, your words tend

to get slurred more, you have to be very careful when you go down there.”

[To Jamie Humes]
Gina Scott,
“You have a beautiful voice but when you don’t hit the notes that you want to hit it really affects your entire presentation."

[To Leon Banks]
Gina Scott,
“I’ve heard you many times and I know that you can do a lot more than what you did.”

Carlos Perrotte,
“If you sick, don’t sing. Serious, if you sick don’t sing. If you don’t feel good don’t sing. I heard you sing before, today you sing bad. I’m sorry to say that. I don’t care what the audience say, that is my opinion.”

Host: The six finalists to move on are Jamie Humes, Clive Myers, Tricia Gabourel, Deborah Pitts, Ernest Meighan, Denise Castillo, and Lucien Dawson. For show info visit: Nextlevelproject.bz.
