And while the PUP made an uneasy peace between the again-divided old and new guards – the UDP continues to move head with plans to discipline Mayor Zenaida Moya. The National Party Council met again this weekend – the second time in three weeks – to appoint an Ethics Committee which will review and adjudge the actions and conduct of Mayor Moya.
That Committee is to be chaired by former Albert Standard bearer and current head of the Financial Intelligence Unit, attorney Marilyn Williams. It is expected to have the membership of two other persons.
That group will hold its first meeting shortly but before that happens, Mayor Moya’s attorneys Elson Kaseke and Godfrey Smith will be granted a Supreme Court hearing before Justice Minette Hafiz on Friday. They will ask the judge for an injunction barring the UDP from proceeding with measures to take disciplinary action against Moya.
