Today police also charged a suspect for the murder of 22 year old Peter Myvette. He was gunned down on Wednesday morning while washing a bus on Kut Avenue between Tigris and Tanoomah Streets. Police say that it was 21 year old Dwayne Evelyn – a resident of Armadillo Street who pulled the trigger. It’s an interesting case because Myvette was a witness in the deadly grenade attack on Kraal Road in December and one theory is that was the motive for his murder. But Lead Investigator Inspector Sinquest Martinez refused to speculate on a possible motive.
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“That is what the evidence is showing at the moment.”
Keith Swift,
“And you don’t know why?”
Insp. Sinquest Martinez,
“I won’t get into that motive at this present moment.
It is not a matter of being sure. But it is good enough, two quite interesting investigations we’re dealing with and it is quite interesting.”
No plea was taken from Dwayne Evelyn who was represented by attorney BQ Pitts. He was remanded until March 18th.
