He was shot in the act of robbing an ideal delivery truck earlier this week and today as soon as he was well enough 20-year-old Charles Young Jr. and his alleged accomplice 26-year-old Brian Yorke were charged with robbery when they appeared today in the #6 Magistrate's Court. Young was also charged with 2 counts of aggravated assault. Young and Yorke pleaded NOT GUILTY to the charges.

Magistrate Dorothy Flowers explained to them that the court cannot offer them bail because the offences were committed with a firearm. She remanded them into custody until June 21st.

The incident occurred around 10:15 AM on Monday May 3rd. Forty-two year old Gustavo Caliz, the driver of the ideal delivery truck, reported to the Police that he and two salesmen, Eli Sanchez and Luis Hyde, were on M and M Street in the Lake Independence area delivering ideals at Y & M Chinese shop when they were accosted by two young men, both of them armed with firearms.

Caliz said they stole $500 from him and one of them, identified as Young, pointed his firearm at Sanchez and Hyde. Caliz said when the robbers were leaving he drew his firearm and shot one of them. The injured man was identified as Yorke. He was shot in his neck and back and he was apprehended on the spot by Police. The second robber, identified as Young, was apprehended by police on Tuesday, May 4th.
