On July 15th, 32 year old Belize City resident David White was doused with kerosene and set on fire by his common law wife, Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth.
After a tough 17 day fight - he succumbed to his injury at the KHMH this morning. Now the woman called Antichrist is awaiting her fate. The mother of three fears she will be charged for murder and today she told Monica Bodden that he made her do it.

"It's very hard because I am mother and father for my 3 kids. I look out for my kids and everyone knows that I look out for my kids by myself. He just brings me down and this is how it ends up. This is the outcome of it after 9 years."

"What transpired that day Lavern?"
Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth
"The night I was sleeping and he came and asked me for $10 and I told him that I don't have any money, I got up because he was annoying me and I told him to go call my niece for me so that I can give him the money. When he got the money he went and he came back to annoy me. He brought the gas in the room and put it on the floor. I took it and put it in the kitchen and when he came back I just threw it on him."

"You got tired after so long?"
Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth
"Yes ma'am I got tired. Now I will punish and my kids will suffer now if I have to go to jail remanded for 3 years."

"Was it a situation where you were being abused?"
Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth
"Yes ma'am."
Monica Bodden
"So you think it will be unfair to charge you for murder?"
Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth
"Definite. All the abuse and the chance he took on me. People know, you can go by my house and ask anybody and they can tell you what was happening. Every time I have to go and look for my things that he sold."
And for her the pain is worse because she never got to see White before he died:

"I don't know, I didn't go and see him. I text his mom and ask if I can go see him but she didn't reply. I really wanted to go and see him."
Longsworth says she is sorry - but must now accept the inevitable:

"I am very sorry about what happen. And I am sorry for my kids because I don't know what will be the outcome of this if they will remand me to prison. I really worry about my 12 year old child who is disabled."

"I know that you are expecting the police to show up at your doorstep anytime soon."
Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth
"I don't have any problem. I am just going with them. I still have to face it."
And while Longsworth is ready for whatever fate awaits her - up to this evening, she had not been picked up. She had already been charged with attempted murder on July 19th - but that charge is now expected to be upgraded, possibly to murder. The Director Of Public Prosecutions Cheryl Lynn Vidal says she will have to review the file to decide what charges will be brought.
White had one daughter. He had a number of cases pending in court.
