The family of 25 year old Xiomara Cruz a resident of the San Martin Area in Belmopan, are sick with worry tonight because their daughter and sister has been missing since last week Thursday afternoon.
It's already a gravely distressing situation and it's made even more so in this case because Xiomara is being treated for mental illness - and she needs her meds to get by.
Her brother Jairo Cruz today told Monica Bodden that she left home on Thursday as she customarily does to exercise on her bike - but she never got back home:...
Jairo Cruz, Brother
"She usually comes out on her bike or she usually go for a walk. But on Thursday she went out on her bike and she didn't come back."
Monica Bodden
"This is not something that occurred before?"
Jairo Cruz, Brother
"No never, not even close to. She usually comes back, it would take 1 -2 hours the most."
Monica Bodden
"Now you mention that she actually suffers with a mental condition. If she doesn't take her medication then....?"
Jairo Cruz, Brother

"She can't have a normal life, she needs her medications. It's hard for us. We don't know where she could be because she doesn't have friends or a boyfriend that we know of. We don't have relatives here so I don't know where she could be. It's very hard for us because she could be anywhere, anything could happen to her. If somebody knows something, or have seen her just please contact us or the police station because my mom and my dad, all of us are heartbroken. Please you know anything just contact us."
Police report that Xiomara's mother Ada Arzu reported that she had a misunderstanding with her daughter on Thursday before she went missing. Cruz told us he knew nothing of that.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Xiomara Cruz is asked to contact the nearest police station or her parents at 663-5180.
