Last night you heard Laverne "Antichrist" Longsworth make her public plea for clemency. She freely admits that she doused her common law husband David White in kerosene and then lit him on fire on July 15th. That led to his death 18 days later, but she doesn't want to be charged for murder, she is hoping to be charged for manslaughter. And the reason for that is because she says she was a victim of sustained abuse.
But that's her story and through the whole ordeal, we haven't heard the other side. Of course, we couldn't hear it from David White, he had third degree burns to 85% of his body and was in a critical condition. But tonight his mother and cousin will tell his story. They say that while Laverne Longsworth plays the public role of victim, she was often his partner in crime, and also an abuser herself.

"Explain to me what were his injuries like? What were those 17 days like?"

"Well it was real agony. He cried day and night, you know what it is to be taken to the theater every other day scrubbing on you raw skin, your raw flesh, you can't use your hand, your feet."

"What percentage of him was burnt up?"

"It was 85%."

"When I went to the hospital and saw David, I drop my tears because he was like a brother to me and just don't know how a person that say they love somebody could actually do that to him."

"Even David on his dying bed says that he didn't believe that she would have done him something like that. He said that he was the only person that loved her."

"Was he angry at her still?"

"He was but after a while when we all talk to him; the pastor spoke to him, all he said was, 'Lavern...Lavern.' That's all he said."

"Like what she was saying on the TV; what about her children, what about David daughter, she doesn't have any mother because her mother died with sickle cell, so only David alone was here to take care of his daughter. Now the father is gone, so what will become of his daughter."

"I was shocked because I know my son is not that kind of person and she did him a great injustice. I know he is not a saint and I know he did things by himself, both of them together, the things that she is accusing him about they both do together. He steals people things and takes it and gives it to her. Probably it's the same things that he stole and give to her she goes and sell it because she is that kind of person."

"Man also gets abuse. David had been stab by her son; David has been chop by her son. The public supposed to look at the both sides of the story."

"She is no saint. She is trying to be the victim but she is not the victim. My son is the one that is the victim. He is the one that will lay there on that cold stone, going to be buried on Friday. We would like justice to be serve and I am not sorry for her, I want her to get the full blunt of whatever is coming to her. She even tries to tell them what kind of justice she wants. She wants manslaughter, now how could she?"
Up to this afternoon Lavern Antichrist Longsworth still had not been arrested, but Yvonne Thompson says even if she is free, she is not welcome at the funeral which is scheduled for Friday.
As we noted last night, White was the father of a 14 year old girl, who has now lost both her parents as her mother passed some years ago.
As for the charges against Laverne Longsworth the DPP today told us that the police will bring the file for her to review tomorrow.
