And while the Capital Cops are looking for a killer and the name of his victim in that case, in another, they are looking for a driver and his truck, responsible for a hit and run death.

Last night at around 8:00 Francisco ALBENIO was walking on the Hummingbird Highway near his home of Saint Margaret's village when he was run over.

Monica Bodden spoke to the friend who was walking with him when it happened:...

Monica Bodden Reporting
This single slipper on the side of the highway - marks the spot where 51 year old Francisco Albenio was knocked down and killed last night.

Marlon Gamez - Son

"The first thing I did was put my two fingers on the neck to see if I can feel any pulse or heartbeat. There were 0 heartbeats. I knew he was already dead."

According to many villagers -Albenio was hit by a big truck… Some described it as an oil tanker - The driver - never stopped - and is still on the run.

Darcy Espinosa, Eyewitness
"It was so fast that we didn't notice. We didn't look back to see what type of truck that hit him."

It happened a little before 8 o'clock in St Margaret's Village on the Hummingbird. Albenio was walking on the side of the road along with his friend and his friend's family.

Darcy Espinosa, Eyewitness

"We were crossing the bridge and then we met Mr. Francisco, we were walking along with him and suddenly my husband shouted to us to move more to the side of the road because a James bus was coming at that time and I just heard a loud sound, I fell to the ground and my feet was bleeding and my little girl just started to cry; she said that something hit her. I saw my husband standing up and the man was already on the ground."

Marlon Gamez - Son
"I saw my dad on the ground laying down."

Monica Bodden
"He was already dead at this time?"

Marlon Gamez - Son
"He was already dead yes. I see a lot of blood, I went to him, and I thought he was just sleeping, maybe because of the hit but when I look underneath his head I saw a big hole. It really hurts me a lot because he is my dad."

According to Gamez - if there was a prompt response from the Police Station in the Village- he believes the driver of the hit and run truck could have been caught.

Marlon Gamez - Son

"No police was there. I try to get assistance from the police but there was no police at the station. The police arrive to the station half an hour later and they set up cones on the road."

Monica Bodden
"A police station is in the village?"

Marlon Gamez - Son
"To me that police station there makes no sense. Most of the police that are there just drink alcohol. We could have still caught the BNE truck if the police was there."

The family is asking for the assistance of anyone who might have information

Marlon Gamez - Son
"I would like to say that if there was anyone that saw what happen to please help us with this and to tell us who the person is."

Monica Bodden
"It was no fault of Mr. Francisco?"

Darcy Espinosa, Eyewitness
"No. He was on his right. He was on the side behind us."

Albenio was the father of two daughters and was on his way home from a family reunion.
