On August 2nd we told you about the tragic case Valerie Sheran, a 28 year old pregnant woman who was stabbed in the midsection by her jealous ex and baby-father-to-be.
They had broken up, but he found her keeping the company of another man, broke into her house and stabbed both her and him. Her injury was far more serious as she was in the last trimester of her pregnancy and lost her child.
And while she has to grieve that loss, her situation is further complicated by the fact that she continues to live in sustained terror, at the fear of another attack.
Today she called us to a friend's home where she is recovering because she is afraid to go back home. The man who she says stabbed her 21 year old Henry Patnett has not been arrested and she says police are taking the case very lightly while for her, it is a matter of life and death.

"Some months ago he stabbed me up the same way like this before. So I took out a restraining order against him so he cannot come around me anymore. I thought he had given up because it's like 5 months now until he comes back again and the night of the stabbing I don't know how he got in. I just want them to find him and take him off the street because yesterday I got a message from him saying that this time he will kill me and he will burn down my mother's house. I don't even stay at home because I fear for my life."

"So you don't know if this guy is detained or not?"

"I am not sure, I am calling the police station to find out and they are not giving me any answers."

"When you call what happened?"

"Well when I call today, well I had called on Saturday first, because we went there on Friday and they say that they don't have any charge against him because they haven't got the paper from hospital yet to say why and what to charge him with. So I went back yesterday morning to Mr. Bulwer at the hospital, they say that they have already sent the paper to the police station. I call the police station today again and the person that answers told me to watch the news tonight. That is not giving me any answer."

"Someone told you to watch the news tonight when you asked if this guy is detained or not?"

"That is not giving me any answer because I am afraid of my mom even staying in that house. I am not even staying there."

"What are the police saying? They need the post mortem results before they could charge him?"
Valerie Sheran, Victim
"According to the hospital they had given everything already; all the papers on how the baby died. I don't know what the station is doing; all I need is justice for my baby because he killed his own baby. The baby died when he stab me in my belly and the caught the baby and the bleeding from inside my stomach cause the baby to die."

"I know that you said that you are not satisfied with the post mortem results."

"Yes because the death certificate is saying that the baby died pre-maturely, but my baby had almost 8 months because next month I was supposed to be due with my baby and the post mortem is saying that she died pre-maturely. Sunday I had the memorial service for her, I lay her to rest on Sunday. All I want is justice for my baby."

"You think that he might want to come back and do you something?"

"Yes because he says it."

"You think it might have been him being jealous that you have moved on with your life?"

"You think that's what led to the stabbing?"

"Yes."
Sheran just got surgery performed on her hand yesterday - and because the injury is so grave - she is not sure if she will regain a full range of motion. As it stands, she is recovering from multiple procedures and has great difficulty moving about.She says her ex had stabbed her before, but it was not as serious.
