Yesterday when police went out between miles 44 and 45 on the Southern Highway, they found the lifeless body of an unidentified man. He had been knocked down and was injured to his left leg, arm, and head. by a motor vehicle, which hit and run. The body still as not yet been identified.
And while that man died down south, there was an accident just as bad on the northern highway. When police visited mile 59 and 60 last week Friday they found a Toyota 4 runner vehicle on the right side of the road with extensive damage. Initial investigations revealed that Hipolito Catzim was driving the 4 runner when he lost control veered off the road and landed in a culvert. The eventually overturned and landed in the water.
There were 2 passengers along with him, Roseli Benavidez and Sergio Reyes. All three of them received head and body injuries and they were all transported to the Northern Regional Hospital. Benavidez and Catzim were both treated and released, while Reyes needed further treatment and was transported to the KHMH, where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment yesterday. Police are still investigating.
