Police literally ran into a roadblock after they searched a farm in the south for drugs. It happened on Thursday 30th. December, when the Gang Suppression Unit led by Superintendent Vidal went to look for some cocaine at a sawmill off the southern highway.
Police got intelligence that after the drug plane landed on the highway on the 13th. November - the traffickers buried a trove of drugs underground on this property.
So police conducted a thorough search - which according to minister Douglas Singh - included digging some holes in the soil - but they came up with nothing.
Police were about to leave empty handed when they found that a log had been placed across the road blocking their exit. According to an official press release - the situation was de-escalated without incident after the owner of the property had a talk with the officer in charge - and agreed to move the log.
