A man who had MS-13 gang tattoos on his chest appeared in court today. 23 year old Gilberto Ruiz was charged for displaying gang insignia but the charge was dismissed because he was inside his home when the police found him.
But he couldn't get away from another charge for marijuana possession so easily: Ruiz pleaded guilty to possession of 22 grammes of cannabis - which is less than an ounce - and was fined two thousand dollars by Magistrate Kayla Teck. If he does not pay by February 28th., he will serve six months. But because Ruiz owed a previous fine of $455.00 for a previous conviction that he had not paid, he was taken to prison. v And if you're wondering why he pleaded guilty, it's because Ruiz's common law wife Maria Caliz was charged jointly with him; when he pleaded guilty, she was cleared of charges.
Police busted Ruiz with the cannabis when they searched his home early this morning and found it in the refrigerator. Ruiz admitted that he was a member of MS-13, but said that was five years ago…
