At the top of the newscast we told you about last night's stabbing murder where 22 year old Darwin Phillips was killed by Vincent Tillett.
While we heard one version of events from Tillett's family, just a few minutes ago, we received a call from Denise Stuart - the woman in the middle of the dispute and Tillett's ex-common-law-wife.
She told 7news that 45 year old Vincent Tillett was not living with her and that they have been separated for some time now. She said Tillett came by the house last night to drop off their 2 sons.
At the time Darwin Phillips - who was visiting his 8 month old baby - was in the living room with her watching TV - when Tillett walked inside the house, went into the kitchen area and then walked back into the living room where he stabbed Phillips in the chest.
According to Stuart, at no point was there any exchange of words between the two men.
