It's Valentine's day today - but last night one man flew into a fit of passionate anger so extreme, he ended up killing a man.
Vincent Tillett known as "Stino" went to his former home yesterday and was confronted by the sight of his ex-common law wife with another man who was an intimate friend of hers.
It is a sure fire recipe for domestic disaster - and a deadly disaster it was last night. Monica Bodden reports:….

It happened inside this house on Antelope extension - around 7:20 last night, where 22 year old Darwin Phillips was stabbed to death.
It is said that Phillips was at the house socializing - along with Denise Stuart - who is the mother of his child -- when Stuart's common- law- husband - 45 year old Vincent Tillett came home.

"Apparently the young man come last night and met the young boy in the house apparently on top of the woman, he saw that and apparently stab the young boy and got into his car and went."
Darwin Phillips was fatally stabbed to his chest.
According to neighbors he ran out into the streets, foaming, gasping for air. Within minutes he was transported to the KHMH - where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
After the stabbing Tillett jumped into his car and fled the scene.
Tillett was picked up sometime today by police.
His friends and family told us they believed he was pushed to his limits and there is only so much that a man can take.

"She live right here and she has my father and this other that comes here often when my father is not here."

"It is understandable that they have a kid together so it a relationship really separate the two of them completely."

"Yes but she shouldn't have had him in the house when my father is in there. All of that I watch them doing."

"This is something that is constantly happening with this young boy. Whenever the owner of the house left because he operates a taxi; I don't know if this young girl contacts the young man and tell him to come because the man (the owner) is not there, the young man comes and she ended up having a baby for this young man. The owner of the house ending up putting her out but she came back pleading and he took her back. But the young man seems like he don't want to keep away from this house, he keeps coming back."

"He is a calm person. He is straight, but the young man just pushes him too much until he got tired of it."

"Something was happening at this house that is like a lifetime story, I don't know. He led this man to do what he did, because this man is a hardworking man, this man take care of his children and thing. The young lady knows what she was dealing with; the young man knew what he was dealing with. What happen didn't have to happen, but due to the amount of time that it played out, that is what happens in the longer run."

"What he did last night was wrong because it's in the man house he came, so when he comes home to drop off the kids he met the young by inside and that is what happen. So don't make anybody give any wrong news, that is exactly what took place."
The DPP is reviewing the case file - and late word to 7news is that Tillett will be charged with murder.
