Anthony Boots Martinez may be a senior minister in the UDP, but he's faced a challenge at every convention he's held. That was up until yesterday when the Port Loyola Representative had his first endorsement convention.
That was reasons enough for celebration, and celebrate he did, in fine style with an all star cast of cabinet level political allies.
But what caught our attention was the non-cabinet ally he's gotten into his camp. Martinez's former PUP opponent has crossed over to his camp. Oscar Rosado took the stage to endorse Martinez. And more than just a plain recitation of support, Rosado gave a stout endorsement, praising Martinez for creating job opportunities and housing, and lamenting that quote "the (UDP) government inherited a seriously crippled economy due to mismanagement, and serious debts that continue to haunt us."
After that it was time to celebrate, and Martinez did just that - breaking loose in trademark style to music by Poots Tittiman Flores.
Prizes to constituents only included five thousand dollars in cash, a microwave, a stove, a refrigerator, a flat screen TV, bicycles and other items.
