Was the Orange Walk Heritage Bank Heist an inside job? That's what police suspect as a senior staffer - who was on duty when the robbery occurred - has been detained.

Police strongly suspect she was involved in the orchestration and execution of the robbery and they say charges could be brought shortly - as early as tonight.

As we reported, the bank was robbed on Tuesday afternoon around 1:00 by two men who walked in like they were customers. One of them asked to speak to the loans officer, while the other stood by the entrance door beside the unarmed security guard.

The man wanting a loan was taken to the manager's office, but instead of asking about a loan, he held her at gunpoint and demanded the key to the bank's vault. He forced the manager to open the bank's vault while the other man held the security guard at gunpoint. The guard and the bank supervisor were handcuffed and ordered to lie on the floor. They escaped with two hundred and two thousand dollars, and coolly walked out of the bank.

The robbery was caught on camera and the men did not use masks.

And while an arrest is expected in that case shortly, police have also made a major breakthrough in the case of the armed invasion of the Belama Police substations. We have confirmed that police yesterday recovered the police-man's firearm, a 38 revolver with four live round which was stolen from him after he was shot. Five men have been detained and charges are expected shortly….
