A pair of 24 year old twins from Orange Walk are under arrest in Cancun Mexico on the suspicion of firearm possession and gang activity. They are Wilton and Walter Lopez.
They were found on Thursday - after neighbors called about suspicious activity at a home in the non tourist area of that city. Police searched the home they were staying and found an AK-47 rifle, a nine millimeter pistol and a 38 caliber pistol, all with live rounds and multiple clips.
The pair were arrested along with Mexicans 28 year old Ana Isabel Rodriguez, and Moisés Martínez Sánchez.
But the story isn't quite that open and shut. According to newspaper reports from Cancun, the twins told police they were forced to work as drug handlers for the group "The Pelones" since the gang had kidnapped their mother and their younger sister. A sensational claim but it may just be a likely story since police found photos of the pair brandishing the weapons when they searched the home.
Their case has been sent before a Mexican judge…
