It got pushed to the end of the news - but there was a very scary armed robbery at a Chinese store in Ornage Walk on Thursday night. 48 year old Chinese businessman reported to police that around 9:30 on Thursday night, Yi Gen Wu, was inside his business - namely Yi Gen Wu store- when two men stormed in. One of them jumped over the counter and pointed a 9 millimeter pistol at his wife Jin Huan Wu and demanded money.
But Wu wanted to give them lead instead! He took out his licensed 9 millimeter pistol and fired several shots injuring both culprits. One of the culprits fired back injuring two of the customers - 31 year old Yilvia Cansino and 11 year old Carlos Cansino. Both Yilvia and Carlos were transported to the Orange Walk hospital for treatment. Police have detained 22 year old Jose Miguel Medina of Trial Farm Village in Orange Walk Town - pending charges - and are looking for two other men believed to be involved in the robbery.
