Police went on another major operation this morning in the city - and again, multiple units conducted operations on what a release calls "known crime-ridden areas including Pregnant Alley, Plues Street, Rocky Road, George Street, East Canal, Wagners Lane, South Street, Berkley Street, and others."
For all that, only seven arrests were made and five of them were for possession of relatively minor amounts of cannabis and in one case, 2.2 grams of cocaine. Police also found five hundred thirty-three dollars, believed to be proceeds of the sale of drugs.
But there was one major find. It happened at an address on Dean street where police conducted a search and found this unusually coloured 9 millimeter CZ pistol along with 19 live rounds and an extended magazine. Three men and tow minors were detained including 36 year old Sheldon Young of East Canal, 68 year old Milan SYLVESTER, and 40 year old Jefferey Robert SMITH. The minors are 15 and 16-year old males. They are all detained pending further investigations.
