Killed His Wife, Bucket Gets Life In Prison

41 year old ex-BDF soldier, Glenford "Bucket" Bermudez, convicted of murdering his wife has been sentenced to life imprisonment. Justice Herbert Lord handed down the sentence today after hearing a plea for mitigation from domestic worker Norma Longsworth, Bermudez' ex-girlfriend.

Racquel Bermudez, a taxi driver and mother of 7 was shot in her head at close range on November 22nd, 2007 and died instantly. After shooting his wife on the Burrell Boom/Hattieville Road, Glenford Bermudez drove to Hattieville where he tried to hang himself with a wire tied to a tree. The suicide attempt failed and he was taken into police custody. Bermudez was represented by attorney, Carlo Mason, while Crown Counsel Sheneiza Smith represented the prosecution.
