Fifty two year old Frank Nunez known as "Congo Man" who allegedly stabbed his nephew Lloyd Diego with a "bora" was charged with attempted murder when he appeared today in Magistrate's Court.

Nunez was also charged with grievous harm, use of deadly means of harm and damage to property. Chief Magistrate Margaret McKenzie explained to him that she will not take a plea from him because the offences are indictable.

No please was taken because the offences are indictable and due to the nature of the offence it is an automatic remand. The stabbing occurred on Monday, May 16 when the relatives had a misunderstanding and Nunez stabbed Diego in his chest at the corner of Vernon and Zericote Streets. Nunez also allegedly damaged Diego's plywood house.
