A post mortem has been concluded on a newborn that had a horrible death in Jalacte village. The newborn, just hours old was discovered when a neighbor, Rolando Sho saw a dog dragging something unusual on the ground; it turned out to be the corpse of a newborn - a baby girl which had both her right leg and left arm severed, torn off presumably by the dog.
The newborn had been delivered hours earlier by Sho's neighbor, 31 year old single mother Juanna Pop - who had to be hospitalized.
A post mortem conducted today showed that the child died due to loss of blood, The blood loss is presumably from a dog bite. Police suspect the dog may also be responsible for her dismemberment.
As we said it is a very disturbing case that raises many questions, like how did a dog get so close to a newborn without anyone noticing. At this time police aren't quite sure what to make of the entire confounding case. The mother remains hospitalized but will be questioned.
The post mortem concluded that the child had gone through a full gestation - but police are looking at the possibility that there was a concealment of birth.
