We don't usually report on domestic disputes, but names make news, and reports are that on Friday night, City councilor Phillip Willoughby was detained in Belmopan and in relation to a domestic dispute.
The complaint was allegedly made by wife Geneva who supposedly alleged that he hit her in the face in a dispute over a text message. This evening, councilor Willoughby told us it is all a myth. He said he and his family are quite happy and in love and that nothing like that happened. When we told him of allegations that there is a police report, he said we simply have a complaint and no one is pressing charges and that it's going nowhere.
His wife also called us and told us that her family is intact, there's no problem and nothing of the sort occurred.
