17 Year Old Shooting Victim Stable

17 year old shooting victim Kevin Alvarez is in a stable condition in the KHMH after being shot on Friday night at 7:00 pm. It happened near the Fred Westby park at the end of Albert Street. Witnesses say the gunman walked up and pulled out a gun which he pointed at the victim multiple times. Finally, he shot Alvarez in the leg. The park was occupied at the time with children who scrambled into a nearby alley or under the bleachers for cover.

We saw police recover the victim's bicycle and at least one 9 millimeter expended shell from the scene. Police have not released any information on the shooting, but we do know that no one has been arrested or charged.
