A Stann Creek robber was caught in the act and handed over to police.
Santos Ortiz, Silk Grass Village, was at home sitting under his coconut tree at 8:00 last night with his wife and some friends, when he saw a man with a black warm cap over his face, armed with a sawed-off shotgun. The man pointed at them and demanded their money.
Ortiz was in fear of his life and did not move, but a member of the group pushed the shotgun which fell to the ground. A struggle then ensued where the masked man bit Ortiz on the left hand and one of his friends on the right forearm.
Still, they subdued him and identified him as Brandon Jones. He was tied up and handed over to the Police who recovered a 16 gauge shotgun. Jones, is a 21 year old fisherman of Silk Grass Village.
