A man charged with possession of counterfeit currency and obtaining property by deception walked out of court today freed of the charges after his accuser was a no show to testify.
Thirty year old Jeremy Hendricks was accused of paying pizza delivery man Keith Anderson with a counterfeit hundred dollar Belize dollar bill. Anderson alleged that Hendricks ordered a pizza on March 25th of this year, amounting to Fifty Eight dollars and Seventy Five cents, and then paid him with the counterfeit bill.
Anderson reported to Police that he gave Hendricks exact change, Forty One dollars and Twenty Five cents, and by the time he realized the money was counterfeit, Hendricks was already gone - and by the count of the change, we'd say he didn't even get a tip!
Hendricks was not detained by Police until Saturday, June 11th - and the case came to court today - by which time, the complainant and the pizza had disappeared.
