Cuello's Belize City Liquor store located at number 53 Pickstock street, was jacked late this afternoon by two men of Creole descent, at least one of them armed with a handgun.
Unconfirmed reports are that the men entered the upstairs of this two story building where they approached one of two female clerks and inquired about purchasing a case of liquor. During the processing of the order, the men surprised the clerks by revealing a handgun and ordering them to turn over all available cash on hand.
The women complied by giving the men an estimated 2 Thousand dollars in cash, proceeds of the day's sales, and then relieved them of their cell phones. In the middle of the robbery, a customer who returned to the store to inquire about his order was gun butted to the head, and robbed of his cell phone and a small amount of cash.
The gunmen are said to have entered the store after a third man conducted a stakeout from the corner of lovely lane and Pickstock street, less than 25 yards away, where the suspected getaway car, a blue Toyota Forerunner was parked waiting.
Along with the cash and cell phones, the robbers made sure to remove any surveillance recordings of their actions by taking the store's hard drive with them as they made their getaway.
