Lorne Lisbey - a BDF Soldier - is in police custody tonight facing a battery of charges for both murder and attempted murder. This morning in Carmelita Village, he killed his mother in law and his sister in law and shot his wife in the midsection. He was dealing with the separation from his wife a month ago - she had moved out to live with her mother.
But today - possibly deranged by jealousy - he went to their house with a murderous intent.

A crowd of spectators gathered in disbelief outside this Carmelita residence -where a double homicide occurred around 11 o'clock this morning.
51 year old Anacleta Pech was seen dead on the ground inside her yard. Her daughter's body, 30 year old Ana Julia Pech - was found inside her house.
Pech and her daughter were shot to death by Pech's own son-in-law - Lorne Lisbey. Lisbey also shot Pech's younger daughter - his ex-common-law wife - Judith Rhaburn - in the shoulder and abdomen. She survived the attack.
From what we gathered on the scene, Lisbey arrived at the home of Anacleta Pech around 11 this morning - in this US military Humvee. He parked the vehicle in the middle of the road - got out with a gun - entered the yard and opened fire.

"About 11:45am this morning Orange Walk police receive information of a shooting incident in Carmelita Village. We visited the residence of Santiago Alberto Cortez, 53 years old; on the arrival we saw the motionless body of Anacleta Pech - house wife of Carmelita Village lying on the ground in a face up position. She had one gunshot that appears to be in the chest region. Further check inside the house we saw the motionless body of Ana Julia Clarita Pech, she is 30 years old house wife of the same address and she had a single gunshot wound to the right side of the abdomen. Both appeared to be dead."
"Our investigation so far is that about 11am this morning Mr. Cortez was in company of his family when the common-law-husband of one of the daughter of Anacleta Pech, Judith Rhaburn. Mr. Lisbey entered the area with what appeared to be a 16 gauge shotgun and he started to fire many shot which caused the injuries to the said persons."
"Judith Rhaburn also receive gunshot wounds on the right side of her arm and abdomen. So far she is being treated at the Northern Regional Hospital. Both bodies are taken to the Northern Regional Hospital for post mortem."
Anacleta Pech was shot in the center of her chest and her daughter Ana Julia Pech in the abdomen.
After Lorne Lisbey finished what he went there to do, he fled the scene and police has since been looking for him.
But why would Lorne Lisbey, attempt to kill his own wife and the mother of his 4 year old child and murder his mother-in-law and sister-in-law?
Only a month ago, his common-law-wife had him arrested for domestic violence. He was released by police a couple days after. His wife, Judith Rhaburn decided to move out and go live with her mother - a decision Lisbey did not agree with and had been threatening her ever since. Around 3 o'clock this morning, hours before the incident happened, Lisbey made a threat to his wife and the police were called. But according to family members, they were a no show until the double murder happened.

"How far in your investigation in regards to where did this all started?"

"Our investigation so far is that this started from a domestic point of view."

"Reports are that around 3 o' clock this morning the family reported a threat by Mr. Lisbey to the officers of the police station without a response and 11am this morning this is what happened."
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"We still dealing with the report. Indeed a report was made and we are still dealing with that report."

"Can you tell us the content of that report? What exactly was in the report that happens this morning around 3?"
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"I don't have the full detail as to exactly what was reported but I know indeed a report was made by the family."

"Did police even show at the residence this morning?"
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"I cannot say, I didn't follow up on that report but i can get that later on."

"During the incident this morning at Mr. Santiago residence, how many people were there? I know there is 3 families that live there. Do you know the details on that?"

"Actually there are 3 houses in the yard and there were several persons that was there along with them, mostly family members, children included."

"The family is also stating that Mr. Lisbey got away with an accomplice on a motorcycle. How far is your report regarding that?"
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"We are still investigating that area."
Reporter
"How many bullets or shell casing you guys collected from the scene?"
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"We collected a few. I cannot give a specific amount at this time."

"Mr. Lisbey showed up in a camouflage vehicle that was park outside the residence?"
Corporal Jeffery Williams
"Yes that is the information that we received also."
His common law wife is in a critical but stable condition.
