As we told you on Monday, the Solid Waste Management Authority's Office equipment and vehicles were crowfooted last week Thursday and Friday. This is in connection with a court case involving Vision Architects and Contractors. They won a half a million dollar lawsuit against Solid Waste on May 4th. When Solid Waste failed to pay the $580,000 within the specified time, Vision's attorney Naima Barrow wrote to Solid Waste asking them when payment would be forthcoming. When there was no response, Barrow then took it to the enforcement stage and sent the court Marshall to Crowfoot the Authority's vehicles and office equipment.

It's a huge embarrassment for the Statutory Board and the Ministry of Natural Resources. Today we asked Attorney General Michael Peyrefitte for an update on this case, but he didn't want to go into detail.

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General

"As far as I know an application was being made that was filed yesterday to remove the crowfoot from the items and without getting too much into the details of a pending case, that is all I can say at this time, the solid waste management situation."

"So you can't say how it got to that point?"

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General
"No, it is a live case, I won't litigate a case that is live in the public."

Reporter
"Have they removed anything yet or is that what you are saying hasn't happened and you are trying to stop it."

Hon. Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General
"As far as I know they haven't removed anything as yet because I know there is a period between when you crow foot it and when you actually go to auction it off so during that period is usually when an aggrieved party if they believe they have been aggrieved can apply to remove the crowfoot."

Contrary to what Peyrefitte says, our sources tell us that all the office equipment and vehicles have been removed. The only items that were left behind are the ones that could not fit in the moving truck. Peyrefitte says as far as he is concerned the office is still fully operational.
