Michael Peyrefitte: the next UDP party leader? If you are trying to wrap your head around that prospect, you aren't the only one. Peyrefitte himself said he isn't even considering it at this point. He says he has a looong way to go before he even qualifies for that race. Peyrefitte says his main focus right now is beating his UDP opponents in the convention for Port Loyola. Here's how he put it.
Hon. Michael Peyrefitte, Attorney General
"I have put in my name to contest the convention for the Port Loyola division. You can't put in your name for leadership if you are not a member of the house so I am not yet even a standard bearer to represent for a party to go against the PUP in one division and you done 'deh dah" leadership. I am humbled by your high aspirations for me, I am miles away from that if at all, that is not on my mind, my mind right now is to defeat Dean Samuels, Shane Castillo and Phillip Willoughby in a convention that will occur sometime between November and January of this year and next year. Anything beyond that, give me a break, one step at a time."
