Held Up At Gou Tai

A pair of brazen robbers held five customers and two proprietors at gunpoint last night in Corozal Town.

It happened at Gou Tai Store where two men barged in - one of them used a gun to corral all the customers into a corner - while the other man - who didn't even have on a mask - held his shirt over his face with one hand while he commanded the proprietor to empty the cash drawer with the other hand. He eventually took one of the candy jars and emptied it to hold all the loot.

Businessman Hai Quing Li handed over an undisclosed amount of cash in different denominations.

And, one innocent customer, 64-year-old carpenter Mario Carrillo - who just happened to walk in at the wrong time - was robbed of his wallet.
