In crime news, a Coast Guard Officer has been accused of raping his employer in San Ignacio. The young man was reportedly working as a caretaker for a 35-year-old, American woman whose husband has suffered 2 strokes.
But back in mid-June, around 9:00 at night, while he should have been working, he allegedly went into the victim's bedroom and took off her pants. At first, she believed it was one of her friends, but later realised it was the caretaker. She fought him off and after a few moments, he left her alone. She has not requested court action but rather told the police to simply keep him away from her.
He said that night he had been smoking and drinking with her and did not recall what happened - but says he would not have disrespected his employer like that.
