But while Longsworth's family members say they can't speak to his habits, the cops say that in this case, the gunman found his target. And his afternoon Superintendent Alejandro Cowo who we spotted on yesterday's scene told us what he's learned about Longsworth's death and what police are doing to keep the peace in Martin's.

Supt. Alejandro Cowo - Head, CIB Belize City "Yesterday at about 4:00 pm Police responded to an incident of shots fired on Mahogany street as a result they visited that address and they made checks in front of JB hardware where they observed two vehicles, a white in colour car and a grey in colour van inside of the grey in colour van police observed the motionless body of Mr. Lynroy Longsworth who had apparent gunshot wounds to his body. What we understand is that Mr. Longsworth was driving from Mahogany street toward the complex building, when reaching in front of JD store he stopped to drop off a passenger and whilst that passenger was exiting the van a male person approached him and fired several shots at his direction. Actually, he had stopped to drop off the passenger at the corner of periwinkle and Mahogany street and that is where the person came out and fired the shots. He drove a short distance and then more shots were fired at him and thereafter he drove and collided with the white in colour car that was parked on the street side."

Cherisse Halsall "Sir how many people were in the dollar van at the time?"

Supt. Alejandro Cowo "We understand it was two persons. Mr. Longsworth is well known to us and we believe that he was an affiliate of one of the gangs in that area hence the reason that he might have been targeted. Police have been very active in the Martin's area since the recent shootings in that location. There are a number of police officers that have been deployed at very strategic points in that location there. Yes, this incident happened in broad daylight however the police at the time were also engaged in some searches behind the martin's area when the incident occurred."
