And while the cops are looking for that gunman, they aren't so sure that unidentified human remains, found near Benque Viejo Town in Cayo, are those of a murder victim.

7News understands that at around 9:30 on Saturday morning, the cops were escorted to the site where a decomposing body was found. Today, the Head of the National Criminal Investigations Branch told us what they know so far:

ACP Joseph Myvette - Head, NCIB
"On Saturday, sometime around 9:30 a.m., police were called to an area on the Black Rock Road in the Cayo District, where somewhere near the Macal River, some 25 feet away, the skeletal remains of seemingly a male person was found. The scene was processed. The remains were removed and transported to the Medical Lab, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination."

"So, no identity at this time?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"At this time no, the remains, from the investigation, seem to have been out there for some time. And, we do believe that it was the floodwaters some 2 months ago that brought it onshore, where it was found."

The cops are currently trying to find out the identity of these remains.
