32-year-old Joshua Briceno lost his life in a fatal road traffic accident on the Southern highway. It happened between miles 3 and 4 in the village of Cattle Landing when David Linarez pulled off the road, that's when he felt something hit his rear bumper. Here's more from ACP Myvette.
ACP Joseph Myvette - Head NCIB
"On Saturday last, sometime shortly before midday police were called to miles two and three on the southern highway in forest home village where they met and spoke with one David Linarez who reported to police that whilst he was traveling from south to east direction he decided to pull over on the right-hand side of the highway when shortly thereafter he heard a loud bang at the back of his pickup and when he came out to check he realized that a motorcyclist, one Joshua Briceno had run into the back of his vehicle, severely injuring himself. As a result, Joshua Briceno 32 years was transported to the Punta Gorda Hospital where he died whilst undergoing treatment."

Cherisse Halsall:
"Sir any indication that either Briceno or the driver was under the influence at the time?"
ACP Joseph Myvette - Head NCIB
"None at this point in time however the normal procedures were followed and samples will be taken from the persons. We do believe Mr. Briceno was speeding because the vehicle had already pulled off the highway, at the point of the collision the vehicle had already pulled off the highway."
Myvette also told us that he would have check whether or not Linarez has been released.
