One woman is hoping the police - or any authority - can help her. Alison Hulse has been living with a mentally ill relative and while he's been aggressive in the past, she says it's never been for this long. It has now gotten to the point where she is fearful for her life because he has been threatening her. Now she is appealing for help for advice from the authorities.

"I'm dealing with a family member who is been diagnosed as psychotic disorder. As of the past few months, he has been getting quite… aggressive and has even been threatening that he will kill me and it's like an everyday threat and quite frankly it's getting very scary and I've been trying to get assistance to see what I can do to get my relative help and also so that we can have peace in the home. But every turn I've been trying to look for help, everyone is saying they can't do nothing."
Courtney Menzies:
"You even called the police."

"The police...once they heard it's someone with mental issues they backed off, they don't want to interfere, they say once it's someone with this mental issues, the police can't deal with them. And I'm like, how can you not deal with them if someone life is in danger. The police just said they can't do nothing, that's the law. And it's quite frightening that you can't turn even to the law for help."
Courtney Menzies:
"And you were saying your relative, he does not want to get help."

"You can't take him into the clinic, you can't give him medication, nothing like that. I was hoping that they can't admit him to somewhere that they can do the procedure they do to let him function much better than he is right now because it's like he's not in our world right now."
"I really need help because he needs to get medicated, he needs to bring down the aggression because at this time he's very aggressive and I wouldn't want him to really hurt me or someone in the family hurt him and then they get in trouble. So I'm just appealing to anyone that can help or give an option or something I can do to get him some help."
