Yesterday, we brought you the tragic murder of 47-year-old Michael Escalante - a well known salesman both in his hometown of Orange Walk and in the Cayo District, where he frequented. His body was found with a single gunshot wound on the George Price Highway on Wednesday. His red Wingle pickup truck was stolen by the killers - last seen heading in the direction of Belmopan.
Well, tonight we can tell you that his vehicle was found in Hattieville area during a flyover of the Belize District. All the windows were shattered. Police are now hunting five suspects, whom they say are known to specialize in robberies and car jackings.
Escalante left his home on Monday and was to return on Wednesday. He was last seen alive that morning in the Cayo District.
