While the BNTU was out in full force this morning, so were the police - but they weren't just monitoring the protest. Members of the supposedly reformed GI3 went out to Armadillo Street to beat down doors and people. And like many recent acts of police excess, this one was captured on camera.
But the residents of the apartment building that the officers barged into say they are tired of being targeted - especially since the homes are filled with mostly women and children. Courtney Menzies spoke with them today and has that story.
Another set of officers visited the scene and advised the residents to report the GI3 members, and promised that they would check on the men that were detained.
Of course, while what the video shows is graphic and objectionable in the extreme, experience tells us that we don't know what happened before all that - and we will press the police for details next week.
