In other drug news, Police in Orange Walk are reporting that they destroyed a major marijuana plantation in that northern district.

Between 5 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday, May 10th, a team of officers from the Orange Walk Special Branch conducted an anti-drug operation in the North Easter Biological Corridor, which is known as "Honey Camp National Park". This location is about 7 miles southeast of San Estevan Village in Orange Walk District. When the cops arrived in the biological corridor, they found a land clearing which was approximately 25 meters by 50 meters. This clearing had approximately 600 cannabis plants ranging from half a foot to 3 feet in height.

No one was in the area, and so, the marijuana plants were uprooted and destroyed by fire.
