Tonight, a man is accused of a heinous act against a young girl. 28 year old carpenter Sean Emmanuel Fisher was today charged for the rape of a child.
It stems from an incident back in February of this year where a 14-year-old minor is alleging she was raped by a man who handcuffed her to a bed whilst inside the home of a relative.
Magistrate Khiana Gordon read the charge to Fisher in the presence of his attorney, OJ Elrington but took no plea because it will be tried at the Supreme Court on indictment.
She also informed him that due to the nature of the offense, she could not grant him bail at the lower court level and he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until August 26, 2021.
His attorney has applied for bail to be heard possibly as early as this Friday.
The rape allegedly happened in February when the teenager alleges that he cuffed and gagged her with a pair of socks.
