2 months ago, we told you about a major technical upgrade that the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal received from Apex Justice.
It's called the Curia Court management system and it allows the court to accept the electronic filing of documents for cases from litigants. With this change, attorneys will no longer need to submit those massive paper documents that are hundreds of pages long. All that can be uploaded online for better and more efficient case management by the court.
Well today, the court received a 60-thousand-dollar equipment upgrade through the Spotlight Initiative, which is funded by the European Union and the United Nations. This donation should help to improve case management of the Judiciary, specifically cases related to gender-based violence and family matters.
There was a ceremonial handing over of the equipment today at the Courtroom of the Acting Chief Justice. The donors and the Government invited the press to attend, and 7News was there. Here's what the main speakers had to say about the improvements that the equipment will bring:
