But who is leading the charge against Faber? Who wants to be the UDP's next leader? Well, before three out of five parliamentary members signed the letter endorsing Shyne Barrow as parliamentary leader, Chairman Peyrefitte said he had no idea.
But speculation was that John Saldivar had his eye on that seat since, of course, he had contested two leadership conventions - winning one of them. However, Peyrefitte shut down those rumors since only a member of parliament can become leader of the UDP.

Michael Peyrefitte, Chairman, UDP
"I've had no conversation with the Honorable John Saldivar concerning this matter. And in terms of him being leader, technically speaking, it's only in the UDP only 8 people can be the leader of the UDP, our constitution is clear, the UDP can only be led by a person in the National Assembly which consists of the five persons of the House and the three members of the senate, those are the only people who can lead so if you look at Mr Saldivar's position, it's not in the National Assembly, so at this time, even if he is the person leading this charge and I have no evidence before me to think he is the one doing it, I can assure you he definitely know because he definitely knows the constitution well, that if Mr Faber were to be removed at a recall convention he cannot be the leader unless he becomes a senator or something after that."
