And while that cop survived a shooting, another cop in the north was killed in a car crash on Saturday. Police have since arrested and charged Eyder Radiel Sanchez for seven offenses, namely, causing death by careless conduct, manslaughter by negligence, failed to keep as close as possible on the right hand side of the road, failed to report an accident, negligent harm, drove a motor vehicle without due care and attention, and two counts of failed to stop and render aid. Sanchez was arraigned at the Corozal Magistrate Court and was granted bail of $8,000.

Sanchez's vehicle had collided into another after he reportedly drifted too far into the other lane at the entrance of Concepcion Village. The crash took the life of 45-year-old ASP Fernando Neal. After the incident, Sanchez fled the scene.
