And switching gears… Last week Friday we told you that four Belizeans had somehow crossed the border into Mexico and only one returned. Later, reports came out of Tulum, Mexico that the three others were executed on a beach. Indeed, three bodies were found on that beach, but up until the end of that day, there was no concrete report on the whereabouts of 24-year-old Rayan Aquino.

The other two Belizeans, Chris Folgarait and 20-year-old Gladimir Chable, were confirmed dead. But Aquino's grandmother told us that she had no idea whether her grandson, who lived with her, was dead or alive and that she didn't even know he wasn't in the country.

Well, tonight, we can report that Aquino is alive and is currently with Mexican authorities while the Belizean Embassy in that country figures out a way to bring him back home. Ambassador Oscar Arnold told our colleagues at CTV3 that they learnt of the incident late Thursday evening and it took a while for the bodies to be identified as Belizeans. Now, they're preparing temporary papers so that Aquino can cross back into Belize. Here's how he explained it.

Arnold said he wasn't sure if charges would be levied on Aquino once he returned to Belize, but that the local authorities may want to question him about the incident.
