So where and how did this new variant enter Belize? Did it come through our now open northern and western borders? Or through the airport? Or maybe through one of the illegal border crossings?
Today, the head table said they can't track blame to any singe channel of infection:

"Is it the public's fault for continued failure to follow the Covid rules, the authority's fault for not enforcing the regulations, or is it the Ministry's fault for a failed education campaign?"

"Certainly, if we are to go down that route of blame game, then we have to look at every single country in the world and then say that all of those countries have incompetent police officers, incompetent nurses, incompetent doctors. This virus is unpredictable and so there is no use in blaming anybody. Everybody has a part to play and like I said in my remarks it is important for every single person to take ownership of this issue. It is not limited to just police officers. They actually have a job to do to fight crime and of course we are under-resourced, under-man, under-staff - we need new vehicles, there is a lot of things to complain of, but there is no use complaining. At the end of the day this is a serious pressing issue and we all have to play our part in order for us to win against Covid."
