So, while good police work led to an arrest in that crime, the Department's Professional Standards Branch is getting ready to investigate a new allegation of police brutality, which was caught on camera.

A cellphone video recently went viral on social media, and in it, 2 officers are seen roughing up an unarmed and handcuffed man. The civilian who recorded the video clearly tried to stay hidden from the cops, and the video shows one of them gratuitously kicking the man, who doesn't appear to be fully conscious.

Police Spokesperson Fitzroy Yearwood told the press that the emergence of this video has triggered an internal investigation:

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood
"I had the unfortunate opportunity to see that video, because I have a whole lot of friends on social media and they forwarded it to me earlier today."

"I want to explain, first of all, we condemn that sort of behavior from any member of this department towards any member of the public. The video itself that was captured, obviously by someone, an onlooker, shows where a man was not in a fully conscious state and he suffered what I would refer to as abuse. I can tell you that the department has a strict policy when it comes to physical abuse of any member of the public and our Professional Standards Branch are investigating that and hopefully sometime soon, I can give you an update as to what actions will be taken if necessary. But, like I said, we do not know what took place out there because of course, they only captured that moment and from what I have seen I can tell you that our department condemns any kind of action of this sort of nature."

Yearwood says that as soon as more information becomes available on this incident, it will be disclosed publicly.
