But while things were relatively calm in the House, outside was where the fireworks went off between KREM's Marisol Amaya and Shyne. The two engaged in a heated back and forth where they both accused the other of misinterpretation.

The argument stemmed from Shyne's criticism of the 11th Amendment and his call for a purge of the parliament, to which Marisol commented that if there is to be a purge of those with familial ties, he would be one of the first to go.

That started what ended up being approximately 7 minutes of back and forth. Here is a snippet.

"You are saying its classist, some people out there are saying it's to protect the institution of parliament who can get in there."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"From who? The people that have gotten in there - in order to protect the institution, we need to do a purge of the institution."

Reporter
"So, then the response to that would be that you would be included in there, because some would say you are the son of a former prime minister and so you cannot equate yourself with those who the young men that you speak of because you..."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"When you say a purge, are you saying that I should be purged I am the son of a former prime minister?"

Reporter
"That you would fall into that. I think some people are saying that this is a closed institution where its family members."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"So then fine. Again, I appreciate these challenges because then I will challenge you. I will resign, Johnny Briceno, the prime minister should resign. His father was a minister, Henry Charles should resign. His father was Said Musa. Kareem Musa, his father was Said Musa. Florencio Marin, his father was Florencio Marin Sr. and Magali Marin, her father was Florencio."

Reporter
"And you uncle Michael Finnegan."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"So then all of us."

Reporter
"You point fingers at each other, but you don't address yourself."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"You're not listening to me. I am saying that I would be willing to resign - all of us resign if that is the standard that you to hold. But that is not what I was saying when I was talking about a purge. I wasn't talking about a purge of family members, I am talking about accountability."

But it didn't end there because Amaya accused Shyne of having an advantage when he contested the candidacy for the Mesopotamia area rep since his uncle is the former six term representative. Shyne countered by saying that other members, such as Cordel Hyde, have had similar assistance - in Hyde's case it's because his father is the owner of a media house.

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"Trying to stop me who by all accounts. I am a successful professional, you can't debate that I went to the States and I made something of myself. I wasn't in the states selling oranges, I was selling millions of albums. To this day I am still a world renown musician."

Reporter
"Was there a convention for you to run?"

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"The candidate dropped out. Was there a convention for Henry Charles?"

Reporter
"All of you do this - point out each other when you are the ones being accused rather than attacking the principle."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"What am I being accused of?"

Reporter
"In terms of openness for different people to run for the seat, but they will say it's because your uncle was the one who held that seat."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"It doesn't matter who held it, it matters who did the work. Again, it's my cousin and I love him, but how come you never say this about the member from Lake I. Nobody attributes the member for Lake I success to his father who is a giant in media. You never do that."

Reporter
"Who is not and wasn't in politics, except he fell out because he was not successful, but your father was successful."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"So, I am supposed to be penalize because my father was successful and he wasn't, but my cousin Hyde is an extremely successful media personality."

Reporter
"It's a family affair inside here over the decades."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"If you want to say that all the family members in parliament should resign, fine. No problem. But whoever does come in after, all I am saying is let us find accountability laws, because we have seen across the world where people with PHD..."

Reporter
"In terms of someone convicted of corruption, is that one of the limitations that you would accept, someone who has been convicted for corruption should never get to run again."

Hon. Shyne Barrow, Leader of the Opposition
"I said that, but you hear what you want."
