Officers of the MIT unit have struck again, making two, almost simultaneous drug busts on a bus at a checkpoint in Buena Vista Village this afternoon. Around 1pm, they stopped a bus heading towards Orange Walk and searched the overhead luggage section where they found a grey bag behind the driver. Searching the bag, they found three parcels wrapped in transparent tape that contained suspected cocaine. The parcels weighed about 7 pounds. No one claimed it and so it was taken to the police station and deposited as found property.
One that same bus police also found a blue backpack on the floor of the luggage area at the back of the bus that contained another three parcels wrapped in transparent plastic. The parcels contained suspected cannabis and amounted also to just over 7 pounds. Again, no one claimed the bag and it was deposited as found property.
