Yesterday's headline was all about a robber fatally shot - and another injured - after they went to hold up a store.

Well, a burglar may have been shot last night - but the full story is still unclear.

Tonight, 20-year-old Jaheim Lawrence, a resident of Custard Apple Street in Belize, City, is hospitalized at the KHMH. That's after police found him suffering from a gunshot injury while they were responding to a crime in progress.

At around 4:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to a call about a burglary near Morisson Alley in Belize City. When they arrived, they were informed that a man had been rushed to the hospital because he had been shot on Iguana Street. When they visited the KHMH, they found Lawrence suffering from a single gunshot wound to the hip area. The cops interviewed him, but he refused to cooperate. Officers then conducted searches in the area where he was found, and found several household items including a television, groceries, and an assortment of slippers. Investigators later found out that a house in the area had been burglarized.

The owner of the house reported that someone broke in between the hours of 7:30 a.m. yesterday and 5:00 this morning. When the cops showed her stolen items, she immediately identified them as her property.

Lawrence had to undergo surgery, and he is currently recovering at the KHMH.
